Phalaenopsis Orchids and Doritaenopsis Orchids

Phalaenopsis, or Moth orchids are known for their long lasting flowers and for being easy-to-grow plants. Many of the Phalaenopsis species are spectacular, but the new orchid hybrids combine the best qualities of their parent plants.

Dear Customers,

May I express my appreciation to all the supportive people I’ve had the pleasure of dealing with over the years. Granted, the purpose of setting up a merchants account on the internet is to generate income, but from some of you, I received much more than that.

Anyhow, to the point.

After nearly 30 years of potting orchids, the process has taken its toll on my hands. Reynard’s Syndrome, Carpal Tunnel Syndrome and chipped cartilage now prevents me from potting any more plants. I actually need my wife to open up jars for me –That’s a pretty strong signal.

Thus, at this point we will be shutting down and no longer taking orders for plants.

Again thanks, it was a great experience.

Mature orchids that are ready to bloom shortly after purchase. These are recommended for beginners because they will endure less-than-perfect growing conditions and will bloom with the most basic care.

Smaller plants that are bargains for successful growers looking for new hybrids. Some of these are blooming size, but may need TLC and time to reach their full potential. Some hybrids are so new that pictures are not available, but we indicate what we expect to see from their parentage.

Our own clones created by stem propagation or the Mericlone process to ensure the plant is identical to its parent. Cloning produces a limited number of offspring, but you are guaranteed that the flowers will be exactly as those on the original plant.

Phalaenopsis Orchids, or Moth Orchids

The genus of Phalaenopsis (from the Greek words 'phalaina' and 'opsis' or 'moth-like') has never been more popular than it is now, with no end in sight. For that reason, we try to offer what seems to be most in demand. And that is; Taiwanese-bred hybrids! Much of the domestic breeding of this genus has disappeared over the years, but the newer Asian hybrids offer much in the way of color, quality, variety, substance, and flower count. If it’s a white orchid or red phals that you want to buy - think Taiwan. Big, bright yellow orchids? The same. Cultivars such as Brother Precious Stones, Golden Peoker, Lih Jianq Beauty, Brother Sara Gold, and Ching Her Buddha (to mention just a few) have become ‘parents of promise.’

We are proud to have orchid selections from Ching Ruey, Brother, and Ching Hua Orchids, as well as Bedford Orchids, who carries on his own breeding program utilizing Taiwanese orchid hybrids and his own awarded clones. And of course we have a few awarded clones of our own breeding.
