Thank you for another very special year! Purchases and visits to our web-site have far exceeded our expectations. What we considered an ample supply of certain orchids was quickly purchased and exhausted. Again, thank you. But our story's not over...

Wickford Orchids has excelled this past year on many levels. We've received numerous AOS awards, including 2 Certificates of Cultural Merit on different genera. Many of these select plants are listed on our site for your purchase. Several lucky visitors who purchased our orchids received AOS awards and ribbons with our plants, and several earned ' Best of Class.' If you live in New England or are visiting, please give us a call and drop by.

Another great way to visit Wickford Orchids is to attend one of the local orchid shows. There are several in New England with plants for sale, exhibits, and instructive lectures (Wickford Orchids is often one of the lecturers). Quality, health, and performance are the keys to our success, and we offer well-rooted, hardened, fairly-priced plants that perform! As promised, we now offer seedlings of our Paph. Macabre 'Barbara' AM/AOS x Paph. Macabre 'Wickford's Best' FCC/AOS. This is a cross between our clone that won the Merrit Huntington Award as the best FCC of 2001 and our personal favorite, the Paph. Macabre 'Barbara' AM/AOS. Over the past several years, we supplied the New York City floral market, and it consumed a great deal of my time as the delivery boy. Barbara and I are now semi-retired, and the road time is drastically reduced. We will be in the greenhouse more often, which means more time for us to spend with you. It's still a good idea for you to call and tell us you're coming. We do things other than grow orchids, so one day we may be above the timberline in the White Mountains, the next night, I'm on the Rhode Island shoreline fishing for stripers and fighting off Great White sharks! At any rate, Wickford Orchids will continue to cultivate the finest hybrids and mericlones for the hobbyist, the expert, and serious exhibitors.

Orchids of Wickford is owned and operated by Barbara and Mike Sheridan, and our orchid growing nursery serves both retail and wholesale orchid growers. Our customers frequently comment on the quality of our orchid plants and their success in re-blooming our orchids. We attribute this to our diligent orchid care and culture and the use of top quality orchid growing products. This is not to say our orchids are pampered - to the contrary - our greenhouse nursery gets quite hot in the summer, and winter-time temperatures often dip to 55 degrees. Our philosophy with the orchid plants is to either be strong, prosper, and grow - or get weaned. This allows us to offer only the healthiest orchid plants for sale online.
