B. nodosa 'Mendenhall'

The Brassavola nodosa is a species orchid that is commonly known as "The Lady of the Night" because it is fragrant only at night, when its fragrance attracts moths to pollinate it. We have a very limited supply of these orchids that are very healthy and will bloom if they are given enough sun during the next growing season. You can move these outdoors and give them lots of sun (until they start to get a sunburned look on the leaves).

The photo above is not one of this particular cross (or grex), but it is of a very similar orchid in bloom (now in possession of our webmaster).
