For Phalaenopsis and Doritaenopsis orchids, we measure the leaf span of the mature opposing leaf pairs when determining the size. This is more representative than indicating the pot size, since the size of the plant itself is more important than the size of the pot it happens to be growing in. An example photo is shown here:

These plants are "near-blooming" size, and some may already be at the stage where they are sending up spikes and blooming in the trays at our nursery. We always ship the largest specimens from the trays first, but there is no way to guarantee when these plants will bloom.
These plants are a great bargain, however, and with basic care they will grow into fully mature specimens and provide you with spectacular flowers in a short time.
As with all of our Phalaenopsis orchids, we ship these to you bare-root so that we can inspect the roots and ensure that they are healthy. Having healthy roots on a younger Phalaenopsis orchid is essential to its long-term growth, so this guarantees that we ship you only the healthiest of orchid plants.
